Sierra Rodriguez's Portfolio

Hello, my name is Sierra Rodriguez. With a passion for political engagement and a dedication to empowering communities, I've cultivated a versatile skill set to make a meaningful impact. As a soon-to-be graduate from American University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, I've honed my abilities in both the academic and practical realms.

Throughout my time at American University, I have had the unique opportunity to immerse myself in my education as a community-based researcher and a leadership scholar. These two fields combine to support my interest in supporting community voting initiatives back home in Allen, Texas, and uplifting prospective female candidates in the local DC area. Due to my commitment to these two areas of education, I will be graduating with a Community-Based Research Certificate, an Advanced Leadership Studies Certificate, and a Women, Policy, and Political Leadership Certificate.

Beyond academics, I've demonstrated my leadership as Chief Executive Officer of Gen Z for the Union. At Gen Z for the Union, I established an online presence under the guidance of the Lincoln Project, amplifying the voices of young individuals and driving strategic growth. In my role as CEO of Youth 4 Beto, I orchestrated a viral TikTok video with over 1.8 million views, highlighting my ability to craft compelling messages that resonate. I've led teams and directed strategies, enhancing voter registration, mobilization, and engagement efforts. My contributions even extended to introducing candidate Beto O’Rourke at a rally in Texarkana.

My extensive campaign experience is driven by my desire to uplift young voices in my community. Since I was in high school, I have been working to uplift and refine my own political voice. Now that I have learned how to give back to my community in a respectful, non-savior way, I want to help marginalized students explore their passions and uplift and refine their political voice and political leadership.
